USW foundation degree
Our coaches are completing the foundation degree in UEFA Community Football Coaching & Development with the University of South Wales (USW) — studying the modern game while putting it into practice with our players every week.

The people behind the sessions
Local people who love the game and care about every player. Qualified, experienced and studying the modern game — coaching football the Cleethorpes way: inclusive, encouraging and fun.
Qualified and learning
Our coaches are completing the foundation degree in UEFA Community Football Coaching & Development with the University of South Wales (USW) — studying the modern game while putting it into practice with our players every week.
Alongside the degree, our coaches work towards their C badges — the recognised first step on the UEFA coaching pathway — keeping their sessions current, safe and well planned.
Fully qualified and experienced children's development and SEND practitioners support every session, so players of every ability, background and need can take part and progress at their own pace.
Our coaching follows the Seven Cs — Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete and Courteous — so every player and parent feels informed, respected and included.
We plan and share sessions with the Coaches' Voice session planner platform, using clear visuals so players and parents can see exactly what each session looks like before they step onto the pitch.
The team
Managing Director · Club Secretary · Junior Vice Chair · Welfare Officer
Sheena is the Managing Director of the club, leading everything we do. She is also working towards the foundation degree and completing the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine, and brings 21 years of experience in children's learning and development — including SEND development and activity development. She raises autistic children of her own, so she understands SEND families first hand, and she enjoys supporting our community open age sessions for children and adults, as well as after-school clubs. As Club Secretary, Junior Vice Chair and our Club Welfare Officer, she keeps the club safe, organised and welcoming for every family.
Chairman · Football Coach
James is the chair person, and is working towards the foundation degree in EFL Community Football Coaching & Development with the University of South Wales (USW), alongside his C badge. He is an experienced coach across the whole community children's sessions, after-school clubs and adult football game management alike. He brings 15 years of coaching experience in the community, including after-school club delivery, and first hand experience raising autistic children of his own, so he understands what families need and knows the game from the coach's side and the parent's side. From the youngest players at their first session to grown adults on matchday, James keeps every session welcoming, organised and full of energy.
Vice Chairman
Adam is our Vice Chairman and a true community man. He has played football in the community since he was 10 years old and is highly experienced in running teams and everything that goes on behind them organisation, matchdays and the day-to-day of keeping a club moving. Alongside work, he raises children with additional needs, giving him real understanding and patience with every family who walks through our door. He has a natural talent for the social side of the club connecting with people, bringing the community together and making everyone feel welcome. He takes real pride in the club, its teams and its people.
Coach · Analysis & Talent ID · U13s Coach
Alex is our analytical, training genie — he lives and breathes football, and coaches our under 13s. An extremely thorough planner and observer, he leaves nothing to chance: every session is carefully prepared, every player is watched closely, and he has real experience in developing detailed match day reports that help our teams and players keep improving. Fully qualified at C badge level and already being put forward for his B badges, he is also working towards the degree in coaching football in the community. His experience covers goalkeeper coaching, analysis, talent spotting and 1:1 sessions.
Football Development Officer · U8s Coach
Oliver is our Football Development Officer for the junior section and coaches our under 8s, helping shape how our youngest players learn and love the game. He is also on the USW degree programme, bringing fresh ideas from his studies straight into his sessions and into the way we develop our junior pathway. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable, he throws himself into everything the club does — and he leads by example on the pitch too, as the captain of our community open age team. Players and parents alike know they can count on him for encouragement, energy and a genuine passion for seeing every child progress.
U14s Coach
Dave coaches our under 14s and is as down to earth as they come — a straight shooter who knows his football. He supports his own children with their diabetes, so he understands first hand what it means to look after young people's health and wellbeing alongside the game. He is all about supporting children in the community, and has a real passion for seeing every child in an environment that helps them thrive.
Treasurer
Amy is our Treasurer — kind hearted and always looking for ways to help the community, all while raising her very young family. She raises children with additional needs, is trained in epilepsy awareness through her own lived experiences with her sons, and is experienced in supporting ADHD, autism and Tourette's. She also brings experience in football management, keeping the club's finances and teams in good order.
Club Development Officer
Paul is our Club Development Officer and brings a wealth of experience from within the football community. He has coached and managed football teams over the years, and knows what it takes to grow a club the right way — on the pitch and behind the scenes. His experience and connections in the local game help us open doors, build partnerships and create more opportunities for every player.
Our Club Welfare Officer is Sheena Cleator. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility — see our policies page for how we keep players safe.

The best way to meet our coaches is pitchside — at the free Saturday Morning Club or one of our sessions. Everyone is welcome, whatever their ability.
